Spybot is freeware and its one of the best anti-spyware. Unfortunatelly some spyware, like PeopleOnPage could not be removed...even keyloggers like spyagent.

Spysweeper is the best in general, under a lot of tests. Can remove keylogger like spyagent. Also has a friendly interface smile.gif

Singh400 i did a test with this 2 programs.
After the reboot spy bot, couldnt remove it. If u scan again its at %systemroot%.
I said spyware like spyagent...cause spyagent is the only spy that spybot cannot remove biggrin.gif
Give a try to see the difference.

Not all spyware removal tools are perfect. One will catch something the other didn't and vice versa.

Also Ad-aware Plus 6 is so weak under key loggers. Ad-aware came 3rd in my list.

I use 3 spyware removal tools, Spybot v 1.3, adaware pro build 158, and Spyware blaster v 3.1. Spyware blaster is the key as it prvents malicious content from being installed into the web browser you are using. My spyware sweeps are finding very little with this installed.

spy bot all the way

I've found that SpySweeper does a better job cleaning than SpyBot and AdAware, and the great thing about it is that once your system is clean, it keeps all the crap out of it.

Might be worth it for someone @ Flex to test the abilities of AntiSpyware, AdAware Pro and SpySweeper 3.5 to keep crap off a clean system. In reality it makes sense to test these 3 products instead of OD scans with free products given the fact that MS is going to charge for it once it's released and MS' product does have some proactive protection features built in.

Other than some cookies, I have yet to find anything with SpyBot/AdAware that SpySweeper hasn't found. SpyBot, while free, is pretty much useless these days.

Same here, Ad-aware & Spybot S&D used in combination and I never have a real problem. I also use Firefox together with decent anit-virus and firewall software (AVG 7 Pro & Kerio) which also helps.

Usually when anyone asks me about spyware software, I always recommened:

• SpyBot
• Ad Aware SE (Pro if you can get it)
• SpywareBlaster
• CWShredder

And I might starting recommened MSAntiSpyware, but for now I'm not going to because I not sure how many false positives show up in the scan.

i like sby-bot alot and i also use the ms version its ok but could be better

Using Spybot, Ad-aware and only browsing with firefox is pretty much all the protection you need. Even though spy sweeper does find a hell of a lot and keeps you really well protected, the other 2 are really good considering they are developed for free.

Omniquad AntiSpy and SpywareGuard are also pretty good, and they're free.

Webroot's Spysweeper does an excellant job. No, it is not free but, it is easy to use and can be trusted to find almost all spyware. Yes, no single product can remove all spyware. This is because spyware is being written so fast that it is hard for all these companies to catch them all. You see, there is no money in Virus writing only fame but, there is tons of money backing spyware code. Webroot has many excellant products. See them at www.webroot.com
Eset, the company who makes the fastest Antivirus scanner is now adding spyware detection to thier newest version of NOD32 (ver 2.5.xx)
see them at www.eset.com
