Own Every SNES Game Ever Made For $24,999

An anonymous reader writes “BSNES author and game collector Byuu has decided to put his entire collection of SNES games up for sale — at the low price of $ 24,999USD. The collection covers *every* game ever made for SNES, all in the original covers. From the article: ‘The seller, who goes by the name “Byuu” on Reddit, says that every single game in the collection comes with its original box and approximately 85 percent of the games come with their original manuals. The collection does not include unlicensed games, and every game has been professionally cleaned and tested. “They all work perfectly,” Byuu says.’”

Ask Slashdot: Understanding the SNES?

An anonymous reader writes “As a product of the 90s I grew up loving the classics that kids today know about from Wikipedia and pop-culture references. Games like Super Bomberman, Zelda: A Link to the Past, Donkey Kong Country I and III (II was a sellout, come on) are the foundations of my childhood memories. Now, though, as a fourth-year electrical engineering major I find myself increasingly impressed by the level of technical difficulty embedded in that 16-bit console. I am trying, now, to find a resource that will take me through the technical design of the SNES (memory layout, processor information, cartridge pin layouts/documentation) to get a better understanding of what I naively enjoyed 15 some years ago. I am reaching out to the vast resources available from the minds of the Slashdot community. Any guide/blog series that you know of that walks through some of the technical aspects of the, preferably, SNES (alternatively, NES/Nintendo 64) console would be much appreciated.”

Neato Robotics’ XV-21 vacuum sucks up pet hair and allergens, looks like a new-age SNES

Sure, iRobot may have a strong presence in the impending robot apocolypse world of autonomous vacuum cleaners, but lest we forget about the others like Neato Robotics. The company’s introducing the retro-futuristic XV-21 Pet and Allergy Vacuum for those of us wanting rid our domains of sniffle-inducing dust particles. Although the XV-21 looks similar to last year’s XV-12, it features a new filter for improved airflow and suction, which Neato claims will catch three-times as many tiny bits around your domain as its normal kit. If that wasn’t enough, the cleaner is also loaded with newly developed bristled brush to aid in sweeping up the likes of pet hair while keeping its noise levels to a minimum. If you’re ready to leave the cleaning to the bots, this little guy is set to hit shelves in late April for $ 429 alongside a $ 60 Pet and Allergy kit packed with the filter (30 bucks on its own) and brush. Current Neato owners shouldn’t fret either, as the add-ons are compatible with all of the company’s vacuums, requiring only an upgrade to the latest firmware via USB. You’ll find the full details in the press release after the break.
